Hello, my name is Natsuko Shinkura. I was born and raised in Kanazawa City except for one year when I was lucky enough to live in Seattle. Throughout my life I have loved traveling the world and meeting all kinds of new people. I was bitten by the travel bug at an early age and I still feel the itch to see the world. But life is always unpredictable and just a few years after returning from America I was lucky to meet my husband, get married, and I am blessed with 2 wonderful adult daughters. Now, with more free time, I would once again like to take the opportunity to both see the world and also showcase the beautiful city of Kanazawa.
With the start of the Hokuriku Shinkansen in 2015, there has been a huge increase in the number of people who want to share the numerous treasures Kanazawa has to offer with it's amazingly delicious food, traditional architecture and arts and crafts, and beautiful Japanese gardens. I can't say I blame them. I spend much of my time now continuing to study English, of course, along with history and food, food, food. When I don't have my head in a book, you will usually find me in search of a good piece of sushi, the perfect umami, or a satisfying bowl of noodles. Why don't you join me? I look forward to sharing my experiences in Kanazawa with you.
